By The Open Source Summit (OSSummit) is one of the biggest Open Source conventions in Europe. The 2020 edition was planned to take place in Dublin, Ireland but was cancelled due to COVID-19.
Now with infections getting lower (knock on wood) and available vaccines, there was hope that an event at a physical location could take place again this fall 2021.
But unfortunately the Linux Foundation, organizer of the OSSummit, announced that the Open Source Summit Europe 2021 will take place in Seattle (USA) instead:
We are now holding Open Source Summit + Embedded Linux Conference September 27th-30th in Seattle, Washington. We had previously announced that the event would be held over these dates in Dublin, Ireland but ultimately decided the US would be a better option in 2021..

This is of course a big bummer for all the Open Source contributors and enthusiasts in Europe as they were hoping to finally get together again.
